Snapchat And Spotify Bring Life To Gateway Of India Through AR Technology

SnapChat Spotify and Gateway Of India

This Diwali 2019 your favorite social media site ‘Snapchat’ and online music streaming website ‘Spotify’ team up to bring life to life to Gateway Of India.

Snapchat is a famous social networking site focusing on instant messaging and only available in the mobile application.

Whereas, Spotify entered India earlier this year providing access to online streaming music to the entire family in one single account.

The collaboration between both brands Snapchat and Spotify was enabled by the media agency UM India, who made this happen using AR (Augmented Reality) technology.

The term ‘Augmented’ means ‘Make Something Greater By Adding To It‘. As the name suggested, you will find the same kind of similarity in its technology.

AR Technology will add digital layers to the captured video or image file. In simple words, it is a combination of the real and virtual worlds.

If you have not checked this feature yet then watch out the below video first.

The above theme is created by the UM India agency under the collaboration between two famous brands Snapchat and Spotify.

To enable this feature, you need to be in Mumbai and very close to Gateway Of India. Once you are near to Gateway of India, all you need to do is click on the first Spotify icon in the lens carousel and point your phone camera toward Gateway Of India to find the monument.

That’s it. This will bring life to your pointed monument and enable the Diwali theme on your mobile till 22nd October 2019.

This Diwali theme is part of Snapchat’s “Landmarker” experience, originally launched in the month of April 2019 with 5 locations

    1. Buckingham Palace
    2. Eiffel Tower
    3. US Capitol
    4. TCL Chinese and
    5. Flatiron Building

This time it is getting expanded in India at the Taj Mahal in Agra and Gateway Of India, Mumbai.

If you have been at this location and enabled any of these landmarkers then please do not forget to share your feedback with us. We will be happy to hear from you.
