Marketing Concept

Before making any decision Marketing Department look for the certain strategies that will help them to achieve the goals.Thus The marketing concept is the philosophy that firms should analyze the needs of their customers and then make decisions to satisfy those needs, better than the competition.

The Production Concept

It holds that consumer will prefer those products which are widely available and inexpensive.This concept ignore the Quality and Consumer. Management focuses on improving production and distribution efficiency.Mass production is given due importance over here.

The Product Concept

It holds that consumers will pay for those product that offer the most quality, performance or Innovation features. That is, “Love the Product but not the Customers”- typically know as “Marketing Myopia”.For example: Consumer will not buy the Floppy Disk even though the company is making the best floppy disk, because features is now outdated and it is now replaced by CD-ROM.

The Selling Concept

It hold that if consumer and business are left alone in than ordinarily then will not buy enough of the organizational product. The Organization therefore undertake an aggressive selling efforts know as ‘Promotional efforts’. This concept is known by a Simple word ‘Make & Sell’ Concept.

Marketing Concept

It hold that consumer must be asked  before manufacturing the product and then make efforts to sell the product to the consumers.This concept is known by a Simple word ‘Ask,Make & Sell’ Concept.For example: Divay Bhaskar Newspaper. They conduct a survey with in Ahmedabad city asking the people for their desire with the Newspaper before launching their Newspaper in Gujarat.

Societal Marketing

The societal marketing concept is an enlightened marketing concept that holds that a company should make good marketing decisions by considering consumers’ wants, the company’s requirements, and society’s long-term interests. That is Organization must consider the Society before making decision.

Initially there were five marketing concept but recently a new marketing concept come in to existence know as Holistic Marketing

Holistic Marketing

A marketing strategy that is developed by thinking about the business as a whole, its place in the broader economy and society, and in the lives of its customers.

Difference between Marketing and Selling concept is given below:
